Tech giant Google has confirmed that GMail and some other services using GMail have been affected by a glitch earlier today. Some users were unable to send their emails and some have expressed frustration especially with sending attachments and uploading them became very slow.
GMail, according to Down Detector, has a lot of complaints at around lunch time today with around two thousand reports. Twitter also saw the GMail issue trend worldwide with different users complaining about the email platform.
It seems that the GMail outage is being experienced globally, though some say that it works fine for them.
Google Apps status also has this to say: “We are continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 8/20/20, 1.30pm detailing when we expect to resolve the problem.”
As of the moment, there are no clear explanations on what caused the GMail downtime. With the pandemic happening, GMail is vital for work, especially for those working from home and GMail is the only means for communication.
